SOMALI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (SYDF) is a local Non- profit, Non- governmental and Humanitarian organization founded by a faculty Somali professionals and was officially launched in the year 2007 by the youth for the youth. SOMALI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (SYDF) is the largest youth alliance of Somalia-based with more than 300 members working in youth development.

SOMALI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION’S OBJECTIVES:
The main objective of Somali Youth Development Foundation is to provide coordinated relief to populations or communities affected by war, floods, earthquake, draught and famine. Empower youth and women in order to improve their living standards.
Having thus stated the main objective, the constitution may proceed to provide that, within the framework of the forgoing, Somali Youth Development Foundation shall have the following principal objects:
a) To alleviate human suffering through relief, Promote peace and development through awareness and empowering the local community.
b) To raise funds and resources to provide coordinated relief and rehabilitation to people or communities living in arid and semi-arid regions during draughts and famines.
c) To put all efforts in Resettling and rehabilitating individuals fleeing from war zones by meeting their basic needs like food, shelter, water and sanitation
c) To teach the youth and the local community the importance of peace.
d) Foster Peace in Communities: The organization shall work with community leaders, provide structured training and brings together diverse groups, helps them identify root cause of conflict and work towards lasting peace.
e) To promote or assist in the promotion of any organization or company or other body having objects similar to those of Somali Youth Development Foundation.
f) To provide and facilitate rescue operations to populations or communities affected by floods and earthquakes;
g) Somali Youth Development Foundation also targets reviving Somali education sector by working with communities, local and international organizations.
h) To Empower youth by working with local African loyal youth groups: through local youth groups the organization aims to mobilize African youth to fully participate in social activities, engaging them with non-violence activities, and promote positive values including justice, respect for human right, democracy, and equality.
i) To fully participate in HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns and encourages free counseling and testing.
j) Providing coordinated aid relief to populations affected by war: SYDF also targets Somalis who are displaced by the conflict by providing them with emergency aid including food, shelter and sanitation.
k) To employ advisors, experts and other staff for all or any of the objects of the Organization;
l) To investment of trust moneys or in such other manner as the Board of the Organization may from time to time determine provide that the outcome of such investments shall be generated back to the organization to achieve its objectives
m) To apply to any governments or authority, public bodies, corporations, companies or persons for and to accept grants or gifts of money and of any moveable or immovable property, donations, gifts subscriptions and other assistance with a view to promoting the objects of the Somali Youth Development Foundation and, in taking of any gift or property to take the same subject to any special trust which may be prescribed by the donor thereof;
n) To do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of any of the above objects;
o) To draw, executive or otherwise deal with negotiable or transferable instruments;

Access to weapons is prolonging the conflict in Somalia, exacerbating violence, fuelling crime, and actively undermining counter-insurgency, security and peace-building efforts, Assisting the flooded community, Somali Youth Development Foundation (SYDF) is willing to re-unite and improve life’s of Somali community .
SYDF headquarters is located in Mogadishu Somalia as well as Nairobi Kenya, Has offices, Baled-Hawo and El-Waq,Luq Districts In Gedo Region; Abudwaq and Balanbal Sub-Offices in Galgaduud Region.
The organization has various regional representatives in the Galgaduud region, Middle Shabelle region, Lower Shabelle region, Bay &Bakool region as well as Banadir.
SOMALI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION believes that by promoting social harmony between the different communities they can lessen the incidents of fighting and create a more peaceful Somalia.
Our approach begins with learning about Somali community notably Youth needs and its goals, We do not just study but take a measurable action and admirable, to save them; we dig deep and learn about Youth needs, and their priorities specific functional expertise as well as extensive search and experience.
